Training and connecting the enterprising rural youth to volunteers, NGOs, and youth development programs from various organizations

Training young unemployed

The goal of MicroLinks’ first pilot project is to work with young unemployed by providing training and support to help them create cooperatives. Together, they launch income-generating activities, primarily in agriculture and livestock.

Ongoing Support

After training, the NGO continues to support these young people, offering mentorship at every stage of their cooperative’s growth to ensure the sustainable development of their activities.

Working with young micro-entrepreneurs

MicroLinks YFD’s second pilot project focuses on working with individual young micro-entrepreneurs. It supports cooperative members who wish to launch independent income-generating activities in their chosen field.

SETTING UP SMALL INCOME-GENERATING ACTIVITIES HELPS DRIVE JOB CREATION FOR YOUNG PEOPLE, WHICH IN TURN CONTRIBUTE TO SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION IN THEIR COMMUNITIES AND IMPROVE LIVING STANDARDS IN RURAL AREAS

OUR MISSION

BUILDING CONNECTIONS

MicroLinks YFD creates connections (hence the name Micro-Links) between aspiring rural youth entrepreneurs and key stakeholders involved in youth development in rural Rwanda:

The link between young people themselves who are trained together in entrepreneurship and management basics before being made aware of pooling their efforts, capacities and savings with a view to initiating development activities concerning them

Linking with Partners

Whenever possible, young entrepreneurs are connected with national and international organizations or programs that support youth entrepreneurship.

Monitoring and Evaluating

MicroLinks YFD regularly monitors the accounting of young cooperatives or independent youth micro-entrepreneurs activities and tracks the development of their operational and managerial skills.
